Regional Food Safety / Due Diligence Specialist – Iberia

About the role

As a Regional Food Safety/Due Diligence Specialist for the Iberia region, you will coordinate, monitor, and continuously improve food safety and due‑diligence processes across growers and suppliers. You will ensure compliance with legislation, customer requirements, and internal quality standards while supporting safe product flow from farm to customer.

Key responsibilities

• Manage grower due‑diligence, collect certifications, and maintain the regional grower matrix.
• Coordinate sampling activities, review laboratory results, and follow up on deviations.
• Develop and execute the annual internal food‑safety audit plan, conduct audits, and monitor non‑conformities.
• Plan and oversee social audits with external auditors and growers.
• Maintain risk assessments (HACCP, water, residue, microbiology) and ensure monitoring systems meet legal and customer requirements.
• Execute traceability and recall tests, and act as backup for the Regional Compliance Manager.
• Provide timely communication on non‑conformities, crisis situations, and customer requirements.
• Support basic food‑safety training for growers and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field.
• 5‑10 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Food Safety, preferably in the agri‑food sector.
• Experience with internal auditing and quality management systems.
• Fluent English; Spanish is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, IFS, GlobalG.A.P. standards.
• Internal auditing expertise.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
