Reading Interventionist – $100k/year

About the role

Alpha School is seeking a Reading Interventionist to lead AI‑enhanced workshops that boost phonics, fluency and comprehension for K‑2 learners in Dorado, Puerto Rico. You will combine adaptive technology with evidence‑based instruction to help every student reach grade‑level reading proficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and facilitate small‑group reading workshops using AI‑adaptive platforms.
• Create personalized, gamified literacy sessions that target phonics, fluency and comprehension.
• Analyze student performance data to refine instructional strategies.
• Collaborate with engineers to evaluate and improve the AI literacy tools.
• Develop scalable, technology‑integrated materials for early‑grade readers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree plus a Master’s in reading instruction or a structured‑literacy certification (e.g., Orton‑Gillingham, LETRS).
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish for communication with students and families.
• Minimum two years of experience facilitating small‑group reading interventions for early elementary students.
• Ability to assess reading levels, organize groups and differentiate instruction without pre‑written curricula.
