Quality Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join the new Fischer Connectors plant in Amarante, Portugal. The role focuses on ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction through inspections, validation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support production teams with inspections and controls to guarantee product quality.
• Conduct product validation activities such as control plans, first‑article inspections and acceptance reports.
• Manage non‑conformities and customer complaints, driving root‑cause analysis and corrective‑preventive actions.
• Maintain and apply technical documentation, including work instructions and procedures.
• Segregate and control non‑conforming items, supervise sorting and approve rework.
• Plan and execute shop‑floor audits, product/process audits and Gemba walks.
• Deliver training on quality requirements and procedures to employees.
• Identify and implement improvements to reduce scrap and non‑conforming parts.
• Escalate critical issues to the Quality Coordinator and ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Technician, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanics and engineering drawing interpretation.
