Python Developer / Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Python Developer / Data Engineer to join our IT team within a global financial services environment. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support analytics, regulatory reporting, and business decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines and processing workflows.
• Implement data ingestion, transformation, cleaning and quality controls using Python and SQL.
• Work with large‑scale platforms such as PySpark, Hive and Hadoop.
• Build solutions on Dataiku DSS or comparable data‑science platforms.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, data models and documentation.
• Participate in workshops, define functional and technical requirements, and map data structures.
• Develop, test, deploy and validate data solutions, including unit testing.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to deliver data‑driven outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving and analytical mindset.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work in cross‑functional, international teams.
• Excellent communication with both technical and business audiences.
• Fluent English (expert level); good Portuguese; basic French optional.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• SQL (Oracle or similar).
• Big‑data technologies: PySpark, Hive, Hadoop.
• Dataiku DSS or similar data‑science platform.
• Data‑visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau) – a plus.
• Cloud environments (AWS, IBM Cloud) – a plus.
• Agile methodologies.
• Jira, Confluence, ALM Octane.
