Product Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Product Design Engineer to join our client’s team in Santarém. The role supports the global engineering strategy and delivers tailored design solutions for cloud‑based environments.

Key responsibilities

• Support the global engineering strategy for the company’s products, aligning with market position and cloud‑based design requirements.
• Provide engineering and design expertise within the global team, proposing creative solutions and fostering innovation.
• Collaborate with customers to understand design requirements and work cross‑functionally with project management, sales, R&D, engineering and manufacturing to ensure seamless integration from concept to full‑scale production.
• Integrate innovative technologies and sustainable engineering practices into product offerings.
• Conceptualize and visualize design projects throughout all development stages.
• Utilize cutting‑edge engineering tools to create presentations and prototypes.
• Develop and implement standardized engineering practices to ensure consistency and quality across regions.
• Provide regular performance reports, milestones and risk updates to the Lead Product Design Engineer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in an engineering or design role, preferably within data‑centre or construction contexts.
• Experience with critical infrastructure projects (oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation or data centre) is preferred.
• Knowledge of cloud‑based environments and their impact on design requirements.
• Excellent proficiency in English for global communication.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

What we offer

• Entry‑level gross annual base salary of €24,000 (per EU Directive 2023/970).
• Meal allowance of €9.50 per day paid via a meal card.
