Product Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Product Design Engineer to join our global engineering team in Santarém. You will support the development of innovative, cloud‑compatible products for critical infrastructure, ensuring designs meet market demands and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Support the global engineering strategy for cloud‑based product solutions.
• Provide creative engineering and design expertise within a cross‑functional team.
• Collaborate with customers to capture design requirements and align them with industry best practices.
• Work with project management, sales, R&D, manufacturing and other internal teams to integrate designs from concept to full‑scale production.
• Incorporate innovative technologies and sustainable practices into product offerings.
• Produce visualisations, presentations and prototypes using advanced engineering tools.
• Help develop and apply standardized engineering practices across regions.
• Report progress, milestones and risks to the Lead Product Design Engineer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering or design role, preferably in data‑centre, construction or critical‑infrastructure projects.
• Experience with modular or skid system design is advantageous.
• Strong English communication skills for global customer interaction.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor and Onshape.
• Knowledge of cloud‑based environments and their impact on design requirements.
