Procurement Specialist

About the role

FairJourney Biologics is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support its antibody discovery and production operations in Porto. The successful candidate will own the end‑to‑end sourcing process, ensuring scientific teams have the materials and services they need without delay.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers that meet scientific and operational standards.
• Lead RFP creation, negotiation and contract award for critical categories, securing optimal value, timelines and service levels.
• Manage the REQ2PO workflow, guaranteeing compliance and timely approvals.
• Support the implementation and adoption of the new Source‑to‑Pay platform, digitising the procurement lifecycle.
• Provide responsive, high‑quality service to internal stakeholders and promote a collaborative culture.
• Oversee supplier onboarding, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement actions.
• Participate in special projects that enhance procurement strategy and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering or Life Sciences.
• Minimum 3 years of procurement experience, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Fluent English with strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proactive, resilient and solution‑oriented mindset.
• Highly organised with excellent time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using ERP systems and procurement platforms.
• Familiarity with the Coupa Source‑to‑Pay solution (preferred).
