PLC & Robot Technician – Production Support

About the role

We are looking for a PLC & Robot Technician to provide on‑site production support for our manufacturing lines in Braga. The role ensures that PLCs, robots and related automation equipment run reliably, minimizing downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site technical support for production lines, troubleshooting PLCs, robots, sensors, drives and other automation components.
• Diagnose and resolve failures, analyse root causes and implement permanent fixes.
• Modify and optimise PLC programs using the Nexeed platform and adjust robot programs for new requirements.
• Improve cycle times, reliability and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Support line upgrades, changes and assist operators and the maintenance team.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional and international teams to drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Technical degree or diploma in Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial automation and fault finding in a production environment.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Fluent English with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proactive, able to work independently and adapt to changing environments.

Required skills

• PLC programming with Nexeed Platform.
• Beckhoff PLC configuration.
• Stäubli robot programming and general robot programming.
• Troubleshooting of PLCs, robots, sensors and drives.
• Interpretation of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
