PLC Engineer – Developer/Commissioner (Lisbon)

About the role

We are looking for a PLC Engineer to develop, commission and operate logistic automation systems for a leading provider of mail, parcel and airport logistics solutions. The role is based in Lisbon and involves working with Siemens PLC technology to deliver reliable, safe and efficient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply PLC software for logistic systems using Siemens PLCs.
• Program and configure devices with TIA Portal and Step 7.
• Commission and test automated systems on‑site.
• Perform internal testing and validation of software and hardware.
• Read, interpret and comment on electrical schematics.

Required profile

• Degree in electronics, automation or a related technical field.
• At least 1 year of professional experience in automation or commissioning.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel for business trips (6‑8 months per year, 6 weeks each).

Required skills

• Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal, Step 7).
• Knowledge of safe PLC concepts and implementation.
• Experience with bus systems: PROFIBUS, AS‑i, PROFINET.
• Understanding of network topologies using SCALANCE equipment.
• Ability to read and comment on electrical schematics.
