Playful Curriculum Facilitator / Child-Led Learning Coach

About the role

Join a small, warm team at a brand‑new centre by the sea, dedicated to empowering children with autism. As a Playful Curriculum Facilitator you will co‑create and deliver a living curriculum that blends structured developmental goals with fun, child‑led experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑design and implement playful activities that address targets such as AAC use, early thinking skills, communication, life skills and motor planning.
• Support non‑verbal children in using AAC, making choices and building functional communication in natural moments.
• Integrate cognitive and thinking development into games, pretend play, cooking, outdoor exploration and daily routines.
• Observe children closely, adapt activities on the spot, and contribute to weekly planning with the team.
• Follow clear guidance and training to apply structured goals without having to invent everything alone.

Required profile

• Passion for allowing children to be themselves and to learn through play.
• Playful, creative mindset with a feel for pedagogy and the ability to turn structured learning into enjoyable activities.
• Calm, grounded presence; comfortable interpreting movement, sounds, tears or silence as communication.
• Ability to take clear developmental goals and translate them into child‑led activities when guided.
• Native proficiency in Portuguese or English and comfortable in the other language.

Required skills

• AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) familiarity.
