Patient Coordinator – Surgery & Service Coordination

About the role

The Patient Coordinator will guide patients through every step of their surgical and procedural journey, ensuring a seamless and professional experience. This position works closely with physicians, anesthesiologists, and clinical staff to deliver high‑quality, patient‑focused service.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and track surgeries, procedures, and pre‑ and post‑operative appointments.
• Educate patients on processes, required documentation, costs, and post‑procedure instructions.
• Arrange pre‑operative studies and verify that all consents and paperwork are complete.
• Act as the primary liaison among patients, doctors, anesthesiologists, and clinical teams.
• Manage appointment schedules, confirmations, and follow‑ups.
• Process billing, collections, and payments for services rendered.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with confidentiality standards and HIPAA regulations.
• Provide warm, professional, and efficient service at every patient interaction.

Required profile

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Office Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience in patient coordination, medical office, ambulatory surgery, or customer service.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with billing and collections preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and patient‑service orientation.
