Packaging Engineer – Primary & Secondary Packaging

About the role

In this vital position you will apply engineering principles to design, qualify and implement primary and secondary packaging components and their supporting systems. You will provide engineering support for manufacturing and packaging operations, troubleshoot technical issues and drive process improvements across global supply and new product introductions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and qualify packaging components, documentation, equipment and processes for global supply and combination products.
• Perform distribution testing (ASTM D4169) and other standards (ASTM, ISO, TAPPI, USP, EP).
• Serve as technical resource for equipment, systems and packaging component evaluations.
• Monitor process performance, analyze data and recommend efficiency, quality and compliance improvements.
• Support quality system activities including deviations, investigations, validation and equipment qualification.
• Create, modify and approve engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks or similar tools.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of engineering experience.
• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering preferred.
• 2 + years of packaging engineering experience in pharma/biotech manufacturing.
• Experience creating/modifying engineering drawings with AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks.
• Solid understanding of primary and secondary pharmaceutical packaging materials and distribution testing.
