Operator I, Environmental Wastewater Treatment

About the role

The Operator I will support start‑up, operation and control of all services required for production and supply wastewater streams transferred to PRASA and the on‑site waste treatment plant. The role ensures proper sampling, testing, chemical dosing and documentation to maintain treatment performance in line with regulatory and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Take readings from wastewater transferred to PRASA and adjust parameters that deviate from set points.
• Clean units, report changes in water characteristics and add chemicals as required.
• Operate the steam stripper and modify settings based on laboratory results.
• Clean the filter press, inspect filter bags for damage, and unload salts into drums and dumpsters.
• Identify drums and place them in assigned locations.
• Generate work orders to correct unsafe situations, defective equipment, or leaking utility lines.
• Act as lead operator when required by the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
• Calculate polymer and flocculant additions and log tank transfers, including water sent to PRASA.
• Handle and report spills, leaks, and equipment failures.
• Maintain consistent wastewater treatment plant parameters.

Required profile

• Ability to read and understand English and Spanish.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cGMP, FDA and EHSS regulations.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Capability to interpret and convert units of measure (temperature, pressure, flow, etc.).
• Strong mathematical reasoning (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
