Mission Manager

About the role

The Mission Manager will lead the execution and enhancement of cancer prevention, detection, and quality‑of‑life programs within priority communities. Working closely with development staff and volunteers, this role ensures program impact, operational efficiency, and strong community partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and improve cancer prevention and detection initiatives, monitoring ROI and identifying innovative solutions for quality‑of‑life needs.
• Coordinate staff‑ and volunteer‑based patient service programs in non‑metro areas, including Reach to Recovery, I Can Cope, and lodging projects.
• Manage local collaborations with health systems, oversee data registration, produce monthly reports, and administer event contracts in line with insurance guidelines.
• Integrate ACS PR staff to strengthen community presence, engage and develop volunteers, and support committees, programs, and services.
• Collaborate with Development Manager and Event Lead to boost patient and survivor participation and event success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a health‑care related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in oncology, community health education, or a related discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven ability to manage complex, high‑pressure, time‑sensitive situations with effective problem‑solving.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and oncology patient/family needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
