Mid-Level Software Engineer – AI & Data for Food Waste Reduction

About the role

Join KITRO’s Software Engineering team to build technology that reduces food waste. As a Mid‑Level Software Engineer you will design, develop and improve full‑stack applications that turn device‑generated data into actionable insights for kitchens worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable web applications using React, TypeScript and Python.
• Design, implement and enhance features that transform large data streams into customer‑focused insights.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to evolve system architecture and adopt best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies and technical discussions.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise applications for reliability, performance and user experience.
• Write tests and documentation to uphold software quality standards.

Required profile

• Approximately 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Git and the core tech stack (React, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS).
• Comfort working in fast‑paced environments such as startups or scale‑ups.
• Basic visual and UX awareness with strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
