Mechanical Construction Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join our team on major data centre projects in Portugal. This site‑based position reports to the Mechanical Project Manager and is responsible for the safe, timely and high‑quality delivery of mechanical works.

Key responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction activities, subcontractors, labour and site resources.
• Coordinate HVAC, pipework and mechanical installations to meet programme milestones.
• Prepare and implement RAMS, ensuring compliance with HSE and quality requirements.
• Oversee procurement of equipment, materials and specialist subcontractors.
• Monitor the two‑week look‑ahead programme, handling variations, delays and scope changes.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and verify that materials meet project specifications.
• Support commercial activities including valuations, variations and final accounts.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager or in a similar M&E role.
• Data‑centre experience is advantageous.
• Strong organisational, communication and leadership abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple work fronts in a fast‑paced construction environment.
