Loss Prevention Specialist

About the role

The Loss Prevention Specialist protects guests, team members and assets of a hotel by preventing, observing and reporting incidents such as accidents, medical situations, property damage, criminal activity and other potential losses. The role ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards and HR regulations while maintaining a secure and welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor hotel premises for safety hazards, suspicious activity and operational risks.
• Respond promptly to emergencies including medical incidents, fires, disturbances and accidents.
• Document incidents accurately, prepare detailed reports and maintain records in line with legal and company standards.
• Collaborate with department leaders, Human Resources and operational teams to support a secure work environment.
• Operate and oversee surveillance and access control systems, ensuring proper functionality.
• Assist leadership in managing guest and visitor‑related matters and internal/external concerns.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in loss prevention, security, law enforcement or hospitality security.
• Prior experience in a hotel or high‑volume customer service environment is desirable.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Familiarity with surveillance systems.
• Knowledge of access control systems.
• Basic security technology proficiency.
• Experience with incident reporting procedures.
