Linux System Administrator – Lisbon

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Linux System Administrator to join a leading aviation company in Lisbon. You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust infrastructure that supports real‑time, high‑throughput services across on‑premise and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on‑premise and in the cloud.
• Administer, harden, and troubleshoot Linux servers in production.
• Operate and monitor critical systems such as databases, messaging platforms, and storage clusters.
• Lead incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑mortems to drive long‑term improvements.
• Enforce security best practices, including access control, secrets management, and backups.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve system architecture, performance, and resilience.
• Document infrastructure, operational procedures, and standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps or a similar role.
• Proven experience with server configuration, troubleshooting, and hardware selection.
• Hands‑on experience with hypervisor, network, VPN, and redundant storage configuration.
• Strong understanding of security, monitoring, logging, backup automation and disaster‑recovery planning.
