Lead Full-Stack Developer (Java & Angular) – Lisbon (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Full‑Stack Developer to drive the design and integration of feature‑team packages, backend APIs and server‑side rendering capabilities for a banking platform based in Lisbon. The role is hybrid, combining on‑site collaboration with remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and integration of feature‑team packages, Optimizely platform, backend APIs, SSR capabilities and CDN caching into a unified production system.
• Define and enforce architecture standards, reusable package lifecycles, versioning and module publishing procedures.
• Implement best practices for API integration, caching strategies, SSR compatibility and production rollout workflows.
• Collaborate with feature teams, API developers, CMS stakeholders and governance bodies to ensure smooth multi‑layer integration.
• Act as technical lead for complex scenarios such as SSR challenges, caching risks for sensitive data and module integration conflicts.
• Mentor developers, promote architectural alignment and support team growth.

• Strong leadership abilities to define and implement standards across multiple teams.
• Excellent communication skills to work with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in modern frontend architecture (component‑based, routing, state management, data fetching, forms validation, client‑side vs server‑side rendering, static site generation, hydration, performance optimisation).
• Experience with Java and Angular.
• Deep knowledge of package management tools (npm, Yarn, pnpm, Bun) and semantic versioning.
• Hands‑on experience with SSR frameworks such as Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Angular Universal, Remix or Express‑based BFF solutions.
• Expertise in caching strategies, including cache‑control headers, edge caching (Cloudflare, Akamai), TTLs and personalized content handling.
• Familiarity with CMS/DXP platforms like Optimizely, Adobe Experience Manager, Contentful or Drupal.
• Strong API integration skills (REST design, authentication, OpenAPI contracts, retry logic, error handling, logging, rate limiting).
• Experience overseeing CI/CD pipelines and production workflows in multi‑team environments.
