Lead Buyer I – Indirect Procurement

About the role

Visteon is seeking a Lead Buyer I to head its indirect procurement function within the automotive sector. The role focuses on sourcing non‑production goods and services such as IT, MRO, professional services and facilities management, driving cost savings and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for indirect categories.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiation and contract management to achieve cost, quality and risk objectives.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, operations and other functions to align procurement strategies with business goals.
• Monitor supplier performance using scorecards and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry regulations and ethical standards.
• Analyse market trends and cost drivers to identify innovation and value‑creation opportunities.
• Drive procurement process improvements and digital transformation initiatives.
• Prepare and present reports, forecasts and business cases to senior management.
• Mentor and develop junior procurement staff.
• Identify supply‑chain risks and develop contingency plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in indirect procurement within the automotive or related industry.
• Strong strategic sourcing and contract negotiation capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyse data, market trends and cost structures.
• Experience in driving process improvements and digital procurement initiatives.
• Leadership experience mentoring junior team members.
