Layout Designer – Line Layout & Pre‑contracting

About the role

We are seeking a Layout Designer to join the Regional System Design team within Engineering & Project Management. The role focuses on creating line layout solutions that meet customer specifications, integrating Sidel machines and third‑party equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop quality, cost‑effective layout and conveyor quotations for assigned projects.
• Conduct site surveys, attend customer meetings, and gather requirements.
• Collaborate with internal product divisions and suppliers to produce engineering layouts aligned with sales strategy.
• Dimension lines and calculate accumulations to achieve target line efficiency.
• Prepare conveyor quotations in line with project proposals and customer specifications.
• Integrate equipment into layouts while ensuring safety, ergonomics and efficiency.
• Collect data for project launch and handover to the Design Execution Team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong foundation in mechanical, electrical and assembly drawings.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Fluent English; additional language is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with AutoCAD 2D (3D a plus).
