Labour Law Counsel

About the role

The Labour Law Counsel will work closely with the Senior Labour Law Counsel to provide day‑to‑day legal support on Portuguese labour matters for the Human Resources department and business units. This role requires deep expertise in Portuguese employment law and the ability to advise on contracts, policies, and employee relations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to HR on all aspects of Portuguese labour law.
• Draft, review and update employment contracts, addenda and related documentation.
• Prepare, revise and maintain internal regulations and HR policies.
• Issue legal opinions, studies, reports and correspondence as needed.
• Participate in meetings with employee representatives, workers’ councils and trade unions.
• Support HR business partners in individual employee meetings.
• Analyze claims and grievances and prepare disciplinary documentation when required.

Required profile

• Law degree from a Portuguese university.
• Admission to the Portuguese Bar Association.
• 4–7 years of experience practising Portuguese labour law.
• Fluency in English (mandatory).

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
