Junior Software Engineer

About the role

Magycal is building next‑generation digital experiences for entertainment and sports audiences. As a Junior Software Engineer you will join a fast‑growing team developing frontend and backend platforms that power interactive TV shows and live events across new markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship high‑quality frontend and/or backend applications.
• Implement features using modern technologies and ensure responsive, performant user interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with product, marketing and design teams to deliver user‑centered solutions.
• Rapidly diagnose and fix bugs, and solve technical problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or currently completing one.
• Available to work on‑site at least three days per week in Caparica or Coimbra, Portugal.
• Passion for delivering great user experiences and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills

• Object‑oriented programming languages.
• Relational databases.
• Experience or familiarity with modern frameworks such as React, Vue, Android, iOS, Go or Python.
• Understanding of REST APIs.
• Version control using Git.
