Junior Railway Signaling Engineer – Lisbon

About the role

IKOS is seeking a motivated Junior Signaling Engineer to join its Lisbon team. You will work on the design, testing and maintenance of railway interlocking systems, the safety core that prevents conflicting train routes.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and configuration of railway signalling systems, including interlockings, trackside and onboard equipment.
• Perform system parametrisation and prepare data according to project specifications.
• Assist in creating signalling principles, control tables and configuration data.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during project execution.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as RAMS, system engineering and installation groups.
• Ensure compliance with railway standards and project requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and a passion for railway technology.
• Positive attitude with excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
