Junior Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join knok’s Data team. You will help keep the data that powers our digital health platform accurate, reliable and available for clinical and business decision‑making. This role offers the chance to work with real healthcare data and develop core data‑engineering skills.

Key responsibilities

• Support maintenance and continuous improvement of the data platform.
• Monitor daily ELT processes, ensuring pipelines run successfully and on schedule.
• Identify and investigate data‑quality issues, pipeline failures and inconsistencies.
• Transform raw data from multiple sources into structured, usable datasets.
• Work with healthcare data standards such as HL7 to extract laboratory results, appointments and admissions.
• Assist in developing and maintaining data models and transformations.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts and other teams to understand data needs and deliver reliable solutions.
• Communicate technical topics clearly to non‑technical stakeholders and contribute to documentation and testing.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Initial academic or professional experience with Python.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Basic understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT concepts and data modelling.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to investigate problems methodically and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Collaborative mindset, curiosity and a strong willingness to learn.
