Junior Data Analyst

About the role

Decskill is seeking a Junior Data Analyst to join its risk management team. You will work in an Agile environment with distributed colleagues in London, Lisbon and Porto, helping to automate and optimise risk‑related processes.

Key responsibilities

• Automate risk management processes and tools using Python, following software development best practices.
• Analyse, review and re‑engineer existing processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
• Develop new tools in collaboration with Risk Managers, focusing on cross‑margining.
• Build automation solutions, interactive dashboards, APIs and bots to support risk management activities.
• Gather, integrate, process and analyse large volumes of data.
• Translate business and user requirements into technical solutions and deliverables.
• Collaborate with the Risk IT team to ensure coding standards, best practices and smooth production deployment.
• Contribute to improving user experience and process efficiency through automation and AI/LLM‑enabled solutions where applicable.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in financial markets, risk management or data analysis.
• Hands‑on experience analysing, optimising and automating business processes.
• Ability to work closely with Risk Analysts and distributed teams.

Required skills

• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with NumPy and Pandas for data analysis.
• Ability to gather, integrate, process and simplify large datasets.
