Junior Backend Developer

About the role

InnoWave is seeking a motivated Junior Backend Developer to join our Lisbon team. You will work on building and maintaining backend services within the .NET ecosystem, collaborating closely with frontend, QA and other stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using C# and the .NET framework.
• Implement and support RESTful APIs for internal and external consumption.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and product owners to ensure end‑to‑end functionality.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code and participate in code reviews.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise performance of existing services.
• Work with relational (e.g., SQL Server) and non‑relational databases.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and best practices.

Required profile

• Final‑year student or recent graduate in Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of C# and .NET gained through academic projects or personal work.
• Understanding of object‑oriented programming principles.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and web services.
• Basic experience with databases such as SQL Server.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and eagerness to learn.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an agile, collaborative environment.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
