Junior Artist - Architectural Visualisation

About the role

The Boundary, a digital architecture studio founded by award-winning architects, is looking for a Junior Artist in Architectural Visualisation in Porto. You will help create photorealistic architectural imagery across stills, animation and VR, working alongside mid, senior and lead artists who give clear direction and specific feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Build models from drawings and references, set up scenes, apply materials and lighting, and support final renders
• Test ideas, make revisions and build confidence with every project
• Develop skills in modelling, texturing, lighting, composition and rendering, and become fluent in the studio's tools, workflows and quality standards
• Manage assigned tasks, follow project milestones and raise blockers early
• Keep scenes, folders and assets organised, follow naming conventions and document your work
• Join reviews, share discoveries and support teammates

Required profile

• A portfolio showing an eye for composition, lighting, materials and atmosphere; professional experience is not essential
• Background in architectural visualisation, architecture, interior design, VFX or a related subject, or equivalent self-taught skills
• Good team habits: clear communication, organisation, respect and responsibility for quality and timing
• A learning mindset, taking feedback well and ready to learn new tools

Required skills

• Autodesk 3ds Max or similar 3D software
• Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud
• Any exposure to rendering tools and production pipelines is useful
