Java Software Engineer – Digital Manufacturing Solutions

About the role

Join Bosch's Digital Manufacturing Solutions team to develop and maintain Java‑based enterprise applications that run across Bosch production plants worldwide. You will work in a multicultural environment, collaborating with colleagues in Portugal, Germany and other locations to deliver reliable software for the automotive industry.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain Java enterprise applications used in production environments.
• Collaborate with Bosch plants and internal stakeholders to define and implement new software features.
• Support the full software development lifecycle: requirements engineering, implementation, testing, peer reviews, documentation, release management and user support.
• Coordinate technical topics with external software suppliers and development partners.
• Use modern development and collaboration tools such as ticketing systems, version control, configuration management and planning/tracking solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within manufacturing IT systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in Java software development and enterprise application design.
• Practical experience with SQL databases.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, cross‑functional team.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
