Instrument & Control Technician

About the role

The Instrument & Control Technician will troubleshoot, maintain and repair plant instrumentation, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) in a power generation environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform testing, calibration, maintenance, repair and replacement of process instrumentation and control systems.
• Update equipment documentation and drawings, and record work results in SAP.
• Coordinate activities with operations, maintenance, engineering, contract personnel and external vendors to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Execute both routine and non‑routine preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Instrumentation or Engineering (preferred) and at least 3 years of industrial plant experience.
• Strong knowledge of power plant operations, safety standards and electrical principles.
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID, loop sheets, schematics and other technical drawings.
• Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Experience with DCS ABB INFI 90 and associated field devices.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and CEMS hardware/software.
• Familiarity with SAP for work order management.
• Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
