Information Security Engineer (ThousandEyes)

About the role

The Information Security Engineer will provide technical leadership across multiple functions to embed strong security controls into Cisco ThousandEyes solutions. You will work closely with security teams to manage risk, support incident response, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and integrate security controls into architectural designs.
• Lead information security risk assessments, develop treatment plans, and conduct internal audits.
• Support external security certifications and compliance initiatives (ISO 27001, SOC2, FedRAMP, NIST, etc.).
• Coordinate security projects, drive risk mitigation, and hold stakeholders accountable for remediation.
• Assist incident response activities, including log analysis, threat containment, and post‑incident reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in incident response, log analysis, and threat containment.
• Exposure to penetration testing or a strong interest in offensive security.
• Experience with networking automation or API‑focused scripting (Bash, Python).
• Solid understanding of security principles in web technologies, networking, and Linux environments.
• Proficiency in at least one automation language (Python, shell scripting, Golang, TypeScript).
