IB Coordinator and Primary Teacher

About the role

Theodore International Startup Academy (TISA Lisbon) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated IB Coordinator & Primary Teacher to join its growing academic team. This full‑time, on‑site position combines classroom teaching with coordination of the International Baccalaureate programme, ensuring alignment with IB philosophy and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated, inquiry‑based learning experiences for primary students.
• Create a stimulating, inclusive, student‑centred classroom environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and collaboration.
• Use appropriate assessment strategies to monitor, document and communicate student progress.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning profiles, abilities and backgrounds.
• Maintain accurate records of planning, assessment and student progress.
• Support the implementation, development and continuous improvement of IB practices across the school.
• Help colleagues develop their understanding and application of IB principles.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and guardians.

Required profile

• Experienced primary teacher with a strong background in the IB curriculum.
• Proactive, reflective and willing to take initiative in curriculum development.
• Ability to contribute ideas and shape the future direction of the school.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff, students and families.
• Commitment to student‑centred, inquiry‑based education.
