High Voltage Engineer

About the role

Yazaki is seeking a High Voltage Engineer to join its Porto Technical Centre in Ovar, Portugal. The role focuses on developing and supporting high‑voltage systems for vehicle electrification, working closely with internal teams and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Implement product development strategies and manage technical specifications for high‑voltage applications.
• Conduct DFMEA, DfM/DfE, VA/VE analyses and ensure compliance with automotive standards (IATF, ISO, TISAX).
• Collaborate with internal and external customers on technical matters and provide expertise.
• Support production processes at Yazaki and customer plants, promoting continuous improvement.
• Plan, analyze, and track project milestones, ensuring timely delivery.
• Report and resolve quality claims, driving corrective and preventive actions.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electrical, Material engineering or a related field.
• Fluent English; additional language skills are a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven capability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
• Familiarity with automotive standards such as IATF, ISO, and TISAX.

Required skills

• 3D CAD tools: CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks, CREO.
• DFMEA, DFM, DFE, VA/VE methodologies.
• Knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF, ISO, TISAX).
