About the role

Alcon is seeking a dynamic Head of Sales for its Optical channel across the Iberian market. Reporting to the Sales & Sales Support function, you will lead a national sales team, develop key accounts and drive innovative selling strategies to increase market share and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and service national accounts, securing preferred vendor status and managing key business relationships.
  • Create customer development strategies, negotiate contracts and implement dedicated key‑account action plans.
  • Lead the design of sales strategies and tactical plans, ensuring alignment with overall sales targets.
  • Introduce innovative digital and remote selling methods and study market intelligence to stay ahead of competition.
  • Organise customer events in collaboration with marketing and medical teams.
  • Map and segment stakeholders, providing insights for targeted outreach.
  • Coach and train the sales team, overseeing day‑to‑day operational activities.
  • Communicate marketing information to the field force and support the development of pricing, presentation packages and new product launches.
  • Achieve sales targets and grow market share across the region.

Required profile

  • Minimum 10 years of sales and marketing experience, with proven success in commercial management.
  • Background in eye care, medical devices or FMCG.
  • Strong leadership and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
  • Customer‑centric mindset and solid business acumen.
  • Native or strong Spanish, fluent English; Portuguese is a plus.
  • Willingness to be based in Barcelona or Lisbon and travel frequently.
  • Availability from August 24.
