Head of Finance & Performance

About the role

Critical Software is seeking a Head of Finance & Performance to partner with the CFO and drive finance strategy across sales, delivery and support functions. This senior position will own budgeting, performance measurement and reporting, while championing AI‑augmented finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own the company budget, track performance against plan and surface variance drivers for senior leadership.
• Partner with business‑area leaders on budgets and forecasts, pressure‑test assumptions and raise planning standards.
• Identify financial risks early, propose mitigation paths and act as a financial gatekeeper on major contracts.
• Monitor live contract performance, oversee statutory close, and ensure SNC/IFRS compliance.
• Validate tax compliance in coordination with internal teams and external advisors.
• Lead procurement financial oversight and serve as primary liaison to auditors, banks and tax authorities.
• Drive AI and automation initiatives within finance, identifying tasks for intelligent agents and guiding implementation.
