Hardware Design Engineer – Automotive Electronics

About the role

As a Hardware Design Engineer you will own the full lifecycle of electronic hardware for automotive platforms, from concept architecture through series production. You will work within Bosch Car Multimedia’s automotive electronics division, contributing to high‑quality technology that shapes the future of mobility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complex electronic hardware, including schematics, simulations, and bill‑of‑materials creation.
• Define and justify hardware architecture and key design decisions that impact system and vehicle performance.
• Act as the technical authority for hardware topics, guiding development from requirements to release.
• Lead design reviews, audits, and cross‑functional technical discussions with international teams and customers.
• Represent hardware development in project milestones, technical reviews, and release decisions, communicating risks and mitigation plans.
• Analyze and resolve hardware issues such as EMC, thermal management, aging, and derating.
• Optimize designs for cost, robustness, safety, and manufacturability to ensure readiness for industrialisation and series production.

Required profile

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related technical field.
• Solid professional experience in electronic hardware development within the automotive industry, with a proven track record of leading complex designs or platforms.
• Deep understanding of analogue design principles and simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of hardware validation, EMC, thermal management and reliability considerations.
