Group Procurement Manager

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Group Procurement Manager to establish and professionalise procurement across an international, multi‑site manufacturing organisation. Working closely with the Group Supply Chain Director, regional leaders and local buying teams, you will bring coordination, governance and commercial excellence to a previously decentralised environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a Group Procurement framework, governance model and decision‑making processes.
• Lead strategic sourcing and category management for direct materials, metal components, packaging, energy and services, consolidating volumes to achieve economies of scale.
• Identify cross‑site procurement synergies, drive cost‑competitiveness and translate initiatives into measurable P&L impact.
• Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, segmenting suppliers by criticality and conducting performance reviews.
• Strengthen supply‑base resilience through dual‑sourcing, alternative materials and contingency planning.
• Assess and design the future procurement operating model, clarifying roles between Group and local teams.
• Enhance contract and commercial governance, ensuring visibility of obligations, pricing mechanisms and renewal dates.
• Establish spend transparency, reporting and analytics, integrating data with the wider supply‑chain systems.
• Support outsourcing initiatives, integration of acquisitions and new product launches by defining commercial frameworks.
• Partner with Plant Directors, Finance, Quality, Engineering and R&D to align sourcing strategies with operational needs.

Required profile

• Significant experience in strategic procurement, sourcing or category management within international industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record of delivering savings and commercial improvements across multiple sites or countries.
• Strong direct‑material procurement background, ideally in raw materials, metal components, packaging or energy.
• Experience developing supplier strategies, managing complex supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
• Ability to influence decentralized teams and stakeholders without formal authority.
• Project‑management, analytical and financial skills with a solid understanding of P&L impact.
