Greenhouse Worker

About the role

Bayer is looking for a motivated Greenhouse Worker to support its nursery operations. The role involves hands‑on work in irrigation, plant care, data collection and safety compliance within greenhouse and field environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform irrigation tasks – installation, removal, repairs, watering, valve pressure verification, and pump/filtration maintenance.
• Measure field and pot moisture, conduct hand‑watering, and manage insect and disease scouting.
• Install, monitor, and maintain insect traps; carry out phytosanitation, housekeeping and weeding.
• Collect, enter and verify agricultural data using handheld and desktop technologies.
• Adopt new technologies and process improvements for greenhouse, screen house and open‑field activities.
• Follow Bayer’s Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and QA/QC standards; participate in safety inspections and training.
• Report product‑quality issues, safety risks and any discrepancies to supervisors.
• Maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and assist in additional projects as assigned.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic IT knowledge (Internet, Outlook, Microsoft Excel).
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to learn and use handheld devices and desktop computers.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lb.
• Willingness to work days, nights, rotating shifts, weekends and overtime.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Preferred: prior agricultural experience and a valid driver’s license (subject to screening).
