Grant Compliance Senior Associate

About the role

The Grant Compliance Senior Associate supports the full lifecycle of federally funded grant programs, with a focus on FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery initiatives. The role ensures compliance with federal regulations, accurate financial reporting, and effective assistance to clients and subrecipients throughout the grant process.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative assistance to program areas for effective grant implementation and compliance.
• Implement grant activities according to approved plans and compliance standards.
• Monitor changes in federal, state, and local policies, assess impacts, and prepare briefings for leadership.
• Prepare, track, and submit grant documentation, including FEMA Requests for Public Assistance, applications, reimbursement requests, awards, subaward agreements, and required reports.
• Coordinate responses to Requests for Information from federal and state agencies, ensuring timely and compliant submissions.
• Maintain organized record‑keeping practices aligned with federal regulations.
• Assist in reconciling documentation across grant management and financial systems.
• Review internal policies related to grant administration and financial management.
• Support monitoring activities, site visits, and audits, including corrective action development.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve grant management or compliance issues.
• Gather documentation for grant closeout, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Project Management, Communications, or Public Relations.
• Three years of experience managing FEMA grants (Public Assistance, Section 428, 404 Hazard Mitigation, or 406 Mitigation) preferred.
