Fraud Analyst – Banking Operations

About the role

FirstBank PR is seeking a Fraud Analyst to monitor and investigate potentially fraudulent activity across its banking products in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Florida. The analyst will help reduce net fraud loss by reviewing transactions, contacting customers, and supporting loss‑prevention initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor deposit, credit, debit, mortgage, ACH, wire, merchant, and cash‑management accounts for fraud, abuse, or compliance violations.
• Review fraud detection reports and online queues to identify suspicious activity.
• Contact account holders, victims, and bank employees to verify transaction authenticity.
• Identify identity‑theft, financial‑exploitation, and loss patterns; provide feedback to improve prevention strategies.
• Conduct fraud analysis, document cases, and submit findings to Corporate Security and Compliance.
• Maintain fraud logs, reconcile losses, and produce detailed reports.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal partners and external customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum two years of experience in fraud analysis, banking operations, or related field.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Flexible schedule availability.
