Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join our hybrid project in Lisbon. The role will support Decskill’s finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting and financial control across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Execute monthly closing and forecasting cycles, preparing, consolidating and analysing financial actuals.
• Contribute to budget and forecast processes for support functions.
• Produce financial reporting packages for stakeholders with accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform financial control activities, including data validation, consistency checks and quality control across systems such as Anaplan.
• Ensure traceability and auditability of financial information in line with internal control standards.
• Act as a financial interface with multiple stakeholders and divisions, supporting P2P, O2C, time‑tracking, budgeting and efficiency monitoring.
• Participate in sourcing committees, validating expenses against approved budgets.
• Support business case preparation, investment tracking and provide financial analysis to improve decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or Economics.
• 3‑5+ years of experience in finance, controlling or accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and controlling principles.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and a financial control mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in an autonomous, delivery‑focused manner.
• Fluent English (minimum B2, preferably C1) and high ethical standards.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Finance.
• Experience with Anaplan.
