Financial Controller – Corporate & Investment Banking

About the role

Natixis in Portugal is looking for a Finance Controller to join its Financial Data Integrity department in Porto. You will be part of a team responsible for producing and certifying the accounts of the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) activities, ensuring data accuracy for monthly and quarterly closings.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile and certify financial statements, including balance‑sheet, off‑balance‑sheet items and P&L, for a selected CIB activity area (Equity Market & Commodity, Financing or Fixed Income).
• Identify and document methodological gaps in financial production processes.
• Analyze foreign‑exchange positions and funding, and determine necessary accounting adjustments.
• Contribute to quarterly closing controls and enhance data‑quality assurance.
• Liaise with Market Risk, middle‑ and back‑office support teams, and other finance departments.
• Justify differences between French GAAP and IFRS GAAP and provide explanations for all accounts within your scope.
• Drive automation of control mechanisms to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Experience in financial reporting and data reconciliation within a banking or CIB environment.
• Strong knowledge of French GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
• Ability to work under tight month‑end and quarter‑end schedules.
