Finance Manager

About the role

Portugal Active is looking for a Finance Manager to own and operate its full financial engine. This 360º position bridges day‑to‑day operations with strategic money management, ensuring solvency and financial discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily finance activities: cash, treasury, receivables, payments and liquidity.
• Anticipate solvency and cash‑flow risks and propose proactive plans.
• Act as the main liaison with the outsourced accounting firm.
• Run the complete accounting cycle end‑to‑end.
• Prepare monthly reporting including P&L, balance sheet, margins, KPIs and variance analysis.
• Process salary payments and support onboarding of new employees.
• Control costs across all departments and negotiate supplier contracts.
• Build presentations and financial scenarios to aid leadership decisions.
• Own budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning.

Required profile

• 5+ years in a genuine 360º finance role covering the full accounting cycle.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Fast, autonomous, precise, low‑ego and hands‑on attitude.
• Ability to translate financial data into actionable decisions.
• Team player with a strong sense of ownership.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Accounting software such as Sage, Primavera or similar.
