Finance Director

About the role

Menzies Aviation Portugal is seeking a Finance Director to lead the finance function for its Portuguese operations. Based in Lisbon, you will provide senior financial leadership, ensure robust governance, and act as a strategic partner to operational and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accounting, financial planning, reporting and governance for the Portugal business.
• Own P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance with IFRS, local statutory requirements and Group standards.
• Manage month‑end close, weekly flash reporting, annual budgeting and rolling forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Drive cash‑flow discipline, working‑capital management, receivables control and cash forecasting.
• Oversee internal controls, cost validation, approval processes and audit readiness.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, statutory financial statements, tax filings and other required reports.
• Develop and mentor the Portugal finance team, ensuring capability, structure and succession planning.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience, preferably in a multinational or logistics environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial analysis into operational decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to embed financial insight, risk assessment and governance in business processes.
• Experience in managing statutory compliance, tax discipline and audit processes.
• Track record of building and developing high‑performing finance teams.
