Finance Director – IFRS & Consolidation

About the role

The Finance Director will lead the financial function for a Portuguese multinational operating in professional services. Reporting to Group HQ, the role combines strategic financial planning, compliance with IFRS, and consolidation across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Drive financial planning, forecasting and budgeting for all supervised companies.
• Challenge business decisions with data‑driven insights focused on shareholder value.
• Ensure cash‑flow aligns with operational needs and financial obligations.
• Oversee accounting, treasury, invoicing, fiscal, management control and reporting in the market.
• Coordinate month‑end close, group close processes and ensure IFRS compliance.
• Supervise internal and external audits and lead consolidation of all entities.
• Develop and implement digitalisation and automation of financial processes.
• Manage risk and compliance frameworks and monitor business performance.

Required profile

• Degree in Management, Accounting, MBA or Chartered Accountant qualification.
• Minimum 4 years managing finance departments (accounting, treasury, control) and experience as Finance Director or Finance Manager in a multi‑entity group.
• Background in manufacturing, construction or logistics is preferred.
• Proven experience with IFRS and consolidation in a multinational context.
• Experience working with global teams and reporting to a shareholder‑owned Group HQ.
• Prior audit experience with a Big Four firm is valued.
