Field Product Engineer – AR5 (Maritime Surveillance UAS)

About the role

Tekever builds Europe’s most capable maritime surveillance UAS. The AR5 is deployed to coastguard, naval and border agencies, and needs engineers who can keep it operating on the ground under pressure. As a Field Product Engineer you will work directly with customer teams worldwide, spending up to half of your time on‑site and the rest at our Caldas da Rainha campus.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver customer‑specific features and integrations on top of Tekever’s baseline systems.
• Work on‑site with customer engineering and operations teams to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
• Maintain system integrity while extending functionality for each deployment.
• Act as the feedback bridge between field operations and Tekever’s core product development teams.
• Travel regularly to customer sites around the world as a core part of the role.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on engineering experience across at least two domains (electrical, electronics, embedded software, telecommunications, mechanical).
• Proven ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly and build reliable extensions.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with customer teams in demanding field environments.
• Bias for getting things done – a working solution in the field beats a perfect one still in review.
• Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
