Fabrication Engineer

About the role

Hydro Extrusions is seeking a Fabrication Engineer to work closely with plants, technical teams and leadership across Europe. You will drive standardisation, performance improvement and operational excellence for our aluminium extrusion operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain fabrication standards across European operations, focusing on safety, efficiency and reliability.
• Monitor and improve manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, uptime, asset utilisation, productivity, scrap and quality.
• Lead and coordinate cross‑functional improvement projects across multiple sites.
• Identify, share and harmonise best practices across the European network.
• Provide expertise, support and constructive challenge to plant leadership and technical stakeholders.
• Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement to strengthen technical capabilities.
• Support compliance with Hydro’s Quality System, HSE requirements, company policies and relevant customer and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to improvements in quality, safety, sustainability and overall operational performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in fabrication of structural components (cutting, milling, assembly, fastening, bending, punching, welding/joining).
• Experience with aluminium extrusion manufacturing is a strong advantage.
• Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen or Operational Excellence.
• Proven track record of improving manufacturing KPIs, especially OEE, uptime and utilisation.
• Experience leading cross‑functional improvement projects across multiple sites or regions.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
