Environmental Protection Manager – EMEA

About the role

Continental is seeking an Environmental Protection Manager for the EMEA region to lead environmental governance, performance and culture across its Tires business. You will act as the central coordination point for all environmental topics, ensuring compliance, improving performance and embedding sustainability into a complex, international footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary interface for environmental matters across EMEA plants, group functions and experts.
• Coordinate activities to align with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate regional collaboration through regular meetings and communication channels.
• Support accurate environmental data reporting and improve data quality for audit readiness.
• Strengthen compliance and KPI performance in line with the environmental strategy.
• Lead environmental audits at sites and selected suppliers.
• Contribute to due‑diligence for M&A and real‑estate projects.
• Drive regional projects such as water management and decarbonisation initiatives.
• Design and deliver environmental training and awareness programmes.
• Promote a strong sustainability culture across all EMEA operations.

Required profile

• Academic degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a comparable field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in environmental management or sustainability.
• Certified ISO 14001 auditor (internal or external).
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, management systems and auditing.
• Experience with environmental reporting and data systems.
• Solid project‑management experience in international settings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Intercultural competence and ability to work across global teams.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 20 % of the time.
