Engineering Manager – Automation (Porto)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the team behind the Nitro Automate Platform. You will guide engineers building AI‑driven document processing APIs, workflow automation tools, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, shaping the next generation of intelligent document automation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing engineering team.
• Define technical direction for REST APIs, PDF manipulation services, and AI integration.
• Collaborate with product, design, and data science to deliver scalable automation solutions.
• Ensure high quality, security, and performance of the platform.
• Drive hiring, performance reviews, and career development.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing software engineering teams, preferably in SaaS or AI‑focused products.
• Strong understanding of document processing, workflow automation, and cloud‑based services.
• Ability to communicate effectively across cross‑functional teams.
