About the role

We are seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality care to patients with physical, behavioral and substance‑use health needs. The RN will work on an as‑needed basis, delivering assessments, care plans and education while collaborating closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Coordinate and provide direct nursing care, ensuring compliance with state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies.
• Maintain accurate medical records and educate patients and families about health conditions.
• Verify and transcribe physicians’ orders, monitor patient status, and promptly notify physicians of significant changes.
• Administer medications, including controlled substances, and document administration accurately.
• Complete admission and discharge processes efficiently.
• Maintain therapeutic rapport while respecting professional boundaries.
• Assist in directing unit activities as assigned and communicate professionally with patients, visitors, and staff.

Required profile

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of employment or eligibility to practice.
• At least one year of nursing experience; psychiatric, mental health, or substance‑use experience is a plus.
• CPR certification and de‑escalation/restraint certification (training provided if needed).
• First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
